check out www.getgsc.com its a free 200 person voip like teamspeak or ventrilo just set up your server and all right go with it . Go check it out and read up on it ..
Ok guys I took the liberty of setting us up a server to test it out if we want. Just download the program, sign up for your account, configure your settings, and search for the Clan Of Friends server I have set up.
I set up all the same channels as we have in TS the same way. Although this is not as straightforward as TS and a little more complicated it has a ton of features that could come in handy.
Edit: After playing with this it's actually really amazing. The voice quality alone kicks the crap outta TS and Vent's codecs and quality. The servers are completely free and you can make as many as you want. I believe that GSC is sponsored or partnered with Gameservers.com who hosts all of these voice servers for you.
Now onto the features..... I don't know where to start it's everything that we wanted in TS and more! Let's see you can see what servers the people in the server are in. It's got a text box like steam or xfire in the server or privately with people. You can send chat text to people while they are in game and it will pop up in game like xfire. You can move this box around and resize it while in game as well as reply so no alt-tabbing. You can send files over this to individuals or as I think I understand it put downloads on the server for everyone to get from it. There is a pop-up in game that tells you who is talking in your channel. By the way you can configure all of these to your personal needs (things like where the text boxes come up in game how big they are hotkeys etc.) You can also set up keys that let you change channels and turn your inbound volume up and down while in game. Complete admin control is there as well as an admin structure for multiple levels of admin. You can change the server location whenever to allow better pings and such. These aren't all of the features but some of the ones I have found amazing.
Oh yea it also tells you what game someone is playing, what the server is called, the ip which you can click on to join, as well the map how many players are on the server, and even how long they have been on it.
Take vent (which is similar in function to TS) + xfire = this program. After some initial testing, it's a nifty program, may be of use to us. I know we get our TS for free, but still, is something to defiantly look at.

Ive used it and it really is kinda cool, good quality, clear and I also have a voice server all set up. User name: M4xlmuS add me as a friend. My profile http://www.getgsc.com/profiles/m4xlmus
This technology seems neat but are we going to have a bunch of rogue VoIP servers? Setting up these VoIP servers can be construed as taking the initiative or, at worse, usurping power, depending how sensitive people are with the current TS administration appointed by our clan leader Danifilth. -Sporty
